Here are two tried and tested methods for cleaning and refreshing gold.
Method one for cleaning jewelry.
Use the following household supplies and cleaners.
Aluminum foil. Salt, clears dirt and deposits. Bread soda helps clean the metal. Soap, helps to break down the accumulated dirt. Hot water.
Step 1. Cover one bowl with aluminum foil.
Step 2. Before that put salt, baking soda and soap in the bowl. Then apply hot water. Salt, soda and aluminum foil together create a chemical exchange that naturally helps clean the metal.
Step 3. Leave the jewelry in the bowl for 10 minutes.
Step 4. Take an old toothbrush and gently rub the jewelry around the edges, grooves or gems. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Dry additionally with a cloth towel.
Method Two for cleaning jewelry.
Use liquid soap. The foaming of the soap with water leads to the degradation of the accumulated contaminants, thus clearing the jewelry from any deposits.
Step 1. Pour the soap into the bowl. Add warm water and stir gently to form a sparkling solution.
Step 2. Dip your gold jewelry in the soap solution for about 15 minutes. The warm soapy water will enter the cracks and holes, thus dissolving the accumulated dirt.
Step 3. Clean, scrub and rinse. Dip an old toothbrush into the solution and gently rub the jewelry. Be insistent on corners and complex areas. Rinse with water and allow the jewelry to dry, dry it further with a cloth towel before putting it back on.
